Band Members Are:
Pete Cha - Guitar/Vocals | Pete is an original member of Hot Fun and has been in the music industry performing all over the mid-Atlantic area since the mid 70's. Pete's not only an accomplished guitar player, but he is also a tremendous performer bringing his electrifying persona by playing the guitar with his teeth and behind his head while playing his parts note for note.
Morgan Jenkins - Vocals/Flute/Keys/Sax | Morgan is one of the most personable people that you will find and while she is our front lady, she brings almost 50 years of on-stage experience giving 150% to every show. She has a stage presence that commands your attention and draws you in to participate in our show through dancing and singing along to your favorite songs. Morgan too is an original member of Hot Fun.
Keni Melby - Keys/Guitar/Vocals | Keni brings over 45 years of on-stage experience as a professional musician. He Keni not only performs with the band but books and manages the band.
Alec Barnhart - Drums/Vocals | Alec is the youngest member of Hot Fun and brings a dynamic to the band that simply electrifies our show through his talent as one of the area's top drummers as well as his ability to entertain from behind the kit drawing your attention towards him on stage and off.
Keith Sylvester - Bass Guitar/Vocals | Keith is a solid player/singer bring the diversity of funk slap bass to the steady thump of rocks signature songs. Keith has an incredible vocal range giving us the option of doing songs most bands would never be able to touch.
Denny Jackson – Keyboards
For Denny Jackson, the musical journey started like it did for so many musicians of his generation—watching The Beatles perform on The Ed Sullivan Show. From that moment on, he knew music was going to be a major part of his life.
By age 16, Denny was already performing professionally, playing live on the radio every Sunday morning on WAYZ. Over the years, his musical career has included performing with Kartune City, Everybody's Brother, The Holders, Milk & Honey, and Shucks, building a reputation as an exceptionally talented and versatile keyboard player.
In the late 1980s, Denny took his talents overseas, performing in Panama, Honduras, Spain, Türkiye, and the Azores Islands. His career also took him to Nashville, where he recorded at the legendary Lawrence Welk Studio.
But Denny's reputation goes well beyond his résumé. He's a great guy to hang out with, a true team player, and the kind of musician every band wants on stage. His talent and musicianship have earned him some serious respect among fellow keyboard players—many of his peers refer to Denny as "The G.O.A.T." of keyboard players in the Mid-Atlantic.
Hot Fun is proud to have Denny Jackson behind the keyboards, bringing decades of experience, incredible musicianship, and a whole lot of fun to every show!
Our Support Staff:
Bruce Nelms – FOH Sound Engineer | Bruce is our Sound Engineer that mixes our Front of House sound system. Bruce is well respected and sought after in the industry. Bruce has traveled the world in the industry and has an extensive list of touring acts that he has toured with include the B52’s, Ziggy Marley and AC/DC. In addition to having a pro mix over the usual sound man running your typical gigging band, Bruce also has a real sense of humor that keeps us laughing all week long with his daily memes that he texts the band including some of the best “Dad Jokes” ever written! We are lucky to have him at the helm night after night providing the very best sound possible for our audience!
John Mongan – Stage Manager/Follow Spot Operator | John is our “Do It All” guy. He does general maintenance on our trailer and is there for routine equipment maintenance and upgrade integrations. John is the “Muscle” behind moving gear and helping us get our stage setup before a show and torn down at the end of the night. John is highly motivated and a real team player always willing to help anyone needing assistance through the night. John is also on top of things like making sure the band stays hydrated and working with the staff of the venue to make sure each night goes off without a hitch.
Noah Michael - Guitar/Stage & Light Tech | Noah brings so much to Hot Fun with his technical knowledge and can-do attitude. As our guitar tech, Noah is thorough and precise as he is an aspiring guitar player.
